Stopped in because of the reviews I saw online. Our plans were to order food possibly dine in. We were greeted before even walking in(found out later it was the wife of the owner). We walked in and we were greeted by the owner who showed us the menu and took our orders. We told him it was the first time we'd been in and he insisted on giving us a tour around. We were led to a spoken word gathering downstairs and were invited to partake and enjoy. Thus we did. There were several comedians, poets and the like who performed and I enjoyed the crowd and the m.c. Once our order was ready it was delivered to the table and it was delicious, homemade and seasoned with lots of love. There is also an outdoor patio area and karaoke during the week. We will definitely be returning to Your Place, as we had an awesome time. Appreciated the amazing hospitality shown

So, this was my second visit to Your Place Diner. My first visit, I went there straight from work and I was so hungry I forgot to take pictures! Nevertheless my lemon pepper wings were on point, my potato salad was delicious and my green beans were also delicious! And did I tell you those lemon pepper wings were hittin! Anyway today my partner Stanley and I went back to try out their Soul Food, since they have Soul Food on Thursdays and Sundays. I ordered oxtails, macaroni and cheese, and greens, Stanley ordered the pork rib tips the cabbage and macaroni and cheese, I also got some yams for us to share. Everything was delicious. The wait was a little long, however they made up for it by giving us some free wings. We both had Witches Brew to wash it all down. The mac and cheese was creamy and cheesy, the yams was just sweet enough and tasted just right, the oxtails were really good, as was the greens. The only thing that would have made everything better was if they had dessert. If you are ever in South City, go by Your Place Diner, you will not be disappointed. Mr D one of the owners, always has stuff going on! Tonight he had a live band that will be playing, they also have comedy nights, rap sessions/ciphers in their basement, and good food and good drinks up to midnight/1am. When you go, ask for Mr D, and tell him MJ sent you!

I literally cannot give this place a higher rating. First things first, service was 10/10, everyone was literally so sweet to both my son and I. For the FOOD: Quite literally top 3 meals I’ve ever had in my life and when I tell you I am a FOODIE . Everything had so much flavor, I got smothered pork, Mac n cheese, and dressing with gravy and I could cry because of how delicious. My son got the baked chicken, which literally fell apart because of how juicy it was. Spaghetti, I didn’t even know spaghetti could be that damn good and mashed potatoes and gravy were also fire. That sweet tea is literally the best tea I’ve ever had. 1000000/10.

After work one evening, MJ and I decided to try out this diner she had recently heard about. Your Place Diner is not to far from our home. It did not disappoint and held some surprises. It serves good food. We had lemon pepper chicken wings and green beans. I had spaghetti, MJ had the potato salad. We loved the chicken and our sides. The lemonade was ok, not that tasty, but the chicken made up for that. We had to wait a while for our to come, because the cooks changed shifts. Because of this, the owner, Mr. D., took 10 off our bill. We had a nice conversation with him. He offered to show us the rest of the diner. Well, the outside in back of the building was something else. It was a patio and more. There was a storm cellar door that lead to a basement where musicians can jam. We had a great time and will go back again. We went back a week later. The food was once again on point. We did have to wait a bit longer so the Mac and Cheese could reach Mr. D's standards. Due to this, Joe , our server, got us free chicken wings. Try this place!!! You won't go wrong.

There's a saying about Mom & Pop diners that they have good food and this place is no exception. I tell you, the food here was great. But, before I talk about the food, I have to be honest. When we first walked into the diner, the loud music and atmosphere made me a little hesitant. We considered leaving until one of the owners came to the table, and we had a great conversation. The waitress was so nice and attentive. Later on, the other owner came a sat with us and talked. They are so friendly. Now to the food. My wife had the Fried Catfish, Toasted Cheese Ravioli, and Slaw. I had the Fried Party Wings, Spaghetti, and Onion Petals. I would have to say that we were not expecting the amount of food that was brought out. If our stay had been longer, we probably would have gone back 1 or 2 more times. If you are reading this and you are planning on going to St. Louis or live in the surrounding cities, you need to check this place out.

This restaurant has been talked about quite a bit lately so I stopped in for lunch. The owner was talking about how they just switched to a different butcher for their beef & she brought out a couple of samples of meat to try. It was decided that it needed to be more tender & was put on hold on the menu board. Oh my God it was so good...so I went with the pork rib tips, with spaghetti & green beans. The portion of meat was hefty & was so tender & good on its own that I didn’t want to ruin the taste by smothering it in sauce. The spaghetti didn’t last long in its bowl; very good. Green beans with onions, ham & potatoes was also a great choice as a side. On all the reviews I saw, it seemed like the staff are as amazing as the food, & that is no lie. I felt like I was at a friend’s house or something. I was included in conversations, given a tour of the other parts of restaurant which includes a back patio & the memorable claustrophobic basement where locals would have jam sessions when it was Iron Barley. Just good vibes & a great place to have a meal & a drink. Highly recommend & will be back!!
